Church opening - Updated
- Hits: 239
Following Government and Church guidance, we are working towards having St James’ building open, beginning on Wednesday 24th June and Sunday 28th June 11am-1pm, at which time you will be very welcome to use the building for private prayer.
There will be measures in place for handwashing and social distancing, as well as a limit on the number of people (around 15).
If you are in a group susceptible to infection or have symptoms of the virus, please look after others by staying at home.
Of course, we can pray anywhere, but the PCC felt it was important to offer the parish a chance to pray in St James’ building should they wish to.
If you have questions or concerns, please contact Charles.

Last week the PCC (the Church council) met online to discuss opening St James for private prayer, as now allowed by Government and Church of England guidance.
It is our intention to open the Church building soon and a small group of people from Church is working on this now.
Further updates will be posted here soon!
With every blessing, Rev Charles.

Daily Hope offers music, prayers and reflections as well as full worship services from the Church of England at the end of a telephone line.
The line – which is available 24 hours a day on 0800 804 8044 – has been set up particularly with those unable to join online church services during the period of restrictions in mind.
“With many in our country on lockdown, it’s important that we support those who are feeling lonely and isolated, whatever age they are."
